Overview
The Sree Parasurama Swami Temple in Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram, is the only temple in Kerala dedicated to the warrior sage Parasurama. This 2000-year-old temple, located on the scenic banks of the Karamana River, features a black granite structure and was reconstructed by the Chera king Athiyaman Perumal. Protected by the Archaeology Department, it is a revered site for performing ancestral rites, including the Bali ritual, where devotees make offerings to departed souls and take a holy dip.
